Tārīkh-i ،Ālām Ārāy-i Amīnī is an important source of historical information and is also of literary value. The author was a contemporary of the Safavids, the Āq Quyūnlūs, and the Šaybanids of Iran and Transoxiana. Being a chronicler of the court of Sultān Ya،qūb (1478 – 1490 A.D.), has reports on the events that led to the fall of the Timurids and the rise of the Safavids. He included important information about the political and social activities of Shaykh Haydar, the father of the founder of the Safavi dynasty, and his father, Shaykh Junayd and their attempts at obtaining political power. This work is also a valuable source of information about social classes, governmental posts, and administrative jobs of that era.
