Four hundred fifty-eight letters are collected in this book, of which twenty-six are those that are addressed to Jāmī by others. The rest are letters that have been composed by Jāmī. Different people are the recipients of these correspondences. Notable among them are monarchs such as the Gūrkhanid Sulṭān Ḥusayn Bāyqarā, Sulṭān Muḥammad Fātiḥ, Sulṭān Bāyazīd II, Jahānshāh Qarāquyūnlū, and politicians as Amīr ،Ali Shīr Nawāyī, Khājāh Majd al-Dīn Parwānah and Malik al-Tujjār. It is an important political and historical document that reveals much about the social and cultural state of a vast area of the Muslim world in the 9th/15th century.
