جامع التواريخ (تاریخ سلغريان فارس)
This work is considered to be one of the most important general histories in classical Persian. It was compiled under the supervision of the famous vizier of the Mongol kings of Iran, Rashīd al-Dīn, by a team of scholars and translators. Rashīd al-Dīn was first ordered by the Mongol ruler, Ghāzān Khān, to prepare a history of the Mongols. However, the text gradually expanded to include a general history of the world from the time of Adam to the reign of the Mongols. The king died in 704/1305 before the completion of the history, and the work was finished during the reign of his brother and successor, the Sultan Muḥammad Uljāytū. The present volume is related to the history of the Salghurids of Fārs and provides a great deal of information about their time. It has been edited, using a number of authoritative manuscripts by one of the most skillful Iranian editors of classical Persian texts.
